Let us assumes, that a dashboard was created with Run as Specified User as "xxx" and , who was in the Top Role in your Organization. (example:CEO)
This dashboard will have the same data for all users regardless of their individual role or record access or security settings.
For Example :
Organizational Growth Dashboard- A Dashboard which shows your company growth chart in a year need to be the same for all users accross the Organization. Hence "Run as Specified User" should be set to CEO
2. Run as Logged-in User
In this case, Dashboard will have different data with different users based on their record access or security settings.
For Example:
My Team Opportunities- Let us assume this Dashboard shows all the Opportunities where your team is working on.
Hence this should be set as "Run as Logged-in User", hence each person viewing this dashboard will have only their Team Members and not other Team Members.
