problem with recycle bin

Hi friends,

I have some problem with the recycle bin

Will the recycle bin contain data of the deleted custom field?

When are custom fields removed from recycle bin?

Recycle bin houses deleted data for how many days

thanks

Eric

Hi Li void Yue

The recycle bin only contains the delete records  only.

ex:- if u have a record in lead Name:-yue

custom field is test__c value is:-  200.

Now if u delete this record and it will go into recycle bin.

then u delete the field test__c  and restore the record u can find only Name : yue not 200 .

Bcoz u have delete the field.if u want to have 200 go to fields and undo the deleted field  test__c.

U can see the value 200 in yue record.

It means the recycle bin dont store the deleted field data in recycle bin the data will be there in the field only.

The Recycle Bin link in the sidebar lets you view and restore recently deleted records for 15 days before they are permanently deleted. Your recycle bin record limit is 25 times the Megabytes (MBs) in your storage. For example, if your organization has 1 GB of storage then your limit is 25 times 1000 MB or 25,000 records. If your organization reaches its Recycle Bin limit, Salesforce automatically removes the oldest records if they have been in the Recycle Bin for at least two hours.

Deleting a custom field will:
  • Delete all dependent information for any dependent or controlling field
  • Change the result of Assignment or Escalation Rules that rely on the custom field data
In order to preserve a record of data for future reference, run a data export before deleting custom fields by clicking Setup | Data Management | Data Export.
After you have deleted this field, it appears in the deleted fields list where you can either undelete it to restore the field and all data stored in it, or erase it to permanently delete it and all its data. Note that when you undelete a field, some properties on the field will be lost or changed.
You will have 15 days to undelete this field to restore the field and all data stored in it, and after that time it and all data stored in it will be automatically permanently deleted.

Undeleted a Custom Field

You have successfully undeleted the custom field: fordelete. All the data in the field has been restored as well.

Changes were made to the field when it was deleted. You should manually reverse these changes in order to return your field to its pre-deletion state.

  • The developer name was changed to fordelete_del.
  • The field was removed from any layouts that were edited while the field was deleted.
  • Any unique constraints have been removed.
  • If the field was required, it has been changed to not be required.
  • The field was removed from any AppExchange packages that contained it directly.

It may take several hours before you are able to search for values in the field.
