Building a Hierarchy in a new app

Hello,

I'm currently building a new app on our force.com platform.  But i want to build a Hierarchy on a custom object or partent./child relationship bewteen the two.

I see there is app from the exchange but thats built for the Account object.

can anybody shed sopme light how i can get this working for a custom object.

Thanks Lee

Are you simply wanting to create a relationship between two objects? For example, Expense Report and Expense Report Line Items? If so, Force.com supports two types of relationships: Master-Detail and Lookup. There are a few differences and the details can be found in the online help. Master-Detail is a 1:M relationship where all children or detail records must have a parent. And if the parents is deleted, so are the children. A lookup creates the relationship but the lookup is not required and no cascade delete when one side is deleted.
