Needed - Trainer with SalesForce.com experience - Raleigh, NC area

PURPOSE:  Designs, coordinates, and delivers training/educational programs for the Commercial Services organization by performing the following duties personally or through alternative resources.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.  Instrumental in the development and presentation of training courses and materials.  Prepares training materials, reference library, testing and evaluation procedures, and other educational resources. Conducts needs analysis, skill gap analysis studies and confers with managers, supervisors, and directors to determine training needs.  Works with staff to formulate training policies, programs, and schedules, based on knowledge of identified training needs, company production processes, business systems, or changes in products, procedures, or services.  Selects appropriate instructional procedures or methods such as individual training, group instruction, self study, lectures, demonstrations, simulation exercises, role play, and computer-based training.  Collaborates with supervisory personnel in effective techniques for training, such as on-the-job training, sales skills, technical skills, management development, product knowledge and adaptations to changes in policies, procedures, and technologies.   Researches and selects outside consultants and trainers to conduct training on specific topics.  Maintains records and prepares statistical reports to evaluate performance of instructors and monitor progress of trainees.   Coordinates established training courses with technical and professional courses offered by community schools.  Screens, tests, counsels, and recommends employees for participation in internal or external educational and training programs.

DECISION MAKING: Must be able to assess and decide appropriate level of training for all of Commercial Services employees.  Requires the ability to determine training needs and develop appropriate training programs.

 

JOB DIMENSIONS: This position has no budget responsibility.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  This position has no supervisory responsibility.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES  In-depth knowledge of LAN/WAN applications and protocols.  Knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure and equipment., including routers, switches, Frame Relay, ATM and SONET.  Knowledge of CATV industry.  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Must fully understand MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project and MS PowerPoint.  Must have excellent presentation skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, have a high degree of creativity and independent thinking skills, outstanding project and planning skills and a high level of professionalism. 

 

 REQUIRED EDUCATION  Bachelorâ¬?s degree required.  Sales experience preferred.  Requires experience in web based training course design and/or curriculum development; delivery and evaluation of training programs in a cable or telecom environment preferred but will consider closely related industries. 

REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE  Must have previous experience in a technical field, preferably with responsibility for technical and sales training.
