Mail Merge Button on Contracts

I need to add a mail merge button on the contract field, but I have no idea where to start. I would think this would be a basic thing to create a button that works like the mail merge button on contacts and accounts, but none of the examples I've seen addresses how to do this.

Ah, I need to elaborate. I want to make a custom button that looks at only the Contract documents. Is there a way to limit what the mail merge button sees?

Also, how do I make it get information from the Contact table? I have a link "Contract Contact" from the contract to the contact, but I can't figure out how to pull information from the contact table into the mail merge document.
