Possible to use formula with multi pick list?

Ok- is it possible to use a formula to transfer multi pick list for the custom volunteer object to contact? If yes, to get help, what information would I need to share to get some help?

Ever hopeful,

Ellen

Hi Ellen,

In order to answer your  question a few clarifications would be helpful:-

1. I am assuming Contact is the parent and volunteer is the child object and they share a master-detail relationship , is it true?

2. I understand that you want to take the value of multipicklist value select of a volunteer record over to the contact, is it correct, then in case of multiple volunteers related to a contact do you want all the values of these volunteer records to be propagated to the parent master record.

3. My understanding is that it can be achieved with the help of trigger easily. As contact is the parent object and will have multiple child instances the best way to take the picklist values from volunteer to the contact would be via a trigger or workflow.
