Updating Profiles through Eclipse

Hi,

Can I use the force.com plugin to transfer profile changes?

Yes, the Force.com IDE will download profiles into your project, but the contents of the .profile files depends on what else is in your project.  For example, if you've downloaded a custom object, then the security settings for that object and its fields will be in the .profile files.  If a profile has no permissions on the any of components in your project, then you may not get a .profile file for it at all.
