Iam not able to connect to sand box from Eclipse but Iam able to connect to developer edition

did you change the select list to say sandbox?
was there an error message?

With the limited knowledge i have, I think you should use a security token. You can get it by going to Setup>
My Personal Information>Reset My Security Token
Your scurity token will be sent to your mail id.
