Account Teams and apex

Are account teams (and sales teams) available to be manipulated using apex triggers (create, edit, delete...). Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

They can be manipulated from triggers, but those team objects themselves do not _have_ triggers (so you can't trigger apex when a new team member is added, for example).

Can you direct me to an example or something please. I have used apex triggers to create records in the AccountShare table. Is this the same or completely different?
