Picklist required based on another picklist

Hi folks,

 

I need to make "Educational/Instructional Org Type" required if "Educational/Instructional Org" is chosen from the "Type" picklist.

 

I just tried this rule to no avail:

 

AND( 
TEXT(Type) = "Educational/Instructional Org", 
ISBLANK(TEXT(Educational_Instructional_Org_Type__c)))

 

Any recommendations?

I just created this rule in my dev org and it worked perfectly. Is it just that the rule doesn't fire, when saving a record with criteria that should make it fire, or are you getting some error when creating the rule?

If you do not get any syntax errors double-check the spelling and puctuation of the values ("Educational/Instructional Org" ) that you are testing and confirm that your formula matched EXACTLY (upper/lower case, blank spaces, etc.)

It wasn't firing. I just rewrote it and tried it again. It's now working!

 

I'm still not sure what I was doing wrong.... eh... oh well!
