How to change a picklist value when we reach a certain date?

Hi,

 

We have a picklist with 6 values, we also have a date field called "Online Date".  We need a formula to automatically update the picklist value when we reach the online date.

 

We use SF Professional (no workflows)

Hi Michael,

 

You can't use a formula to update a picklist, you'd need to be looking at workflow for that. What you could do, however is create a new formula field to display the required value.

 

I hope that makes sense.
