Sorting <apex:datatable> without apex classes

Is there any way to create some kind of sorting logic for an <apex:datatable> in a Group Edition account?  (i.e. without the use of apex classes)

 

Any comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Correct me if I'm wrong though, but doesn't using StandardSetControllers require building an apex class/custom controller?  

 

Please let me know if there's a way to do it without custom controllers.
