Need to hide Save and Cancel button from layout

Hi all,

 

I need to hide standard save and cancel button form custom page layout, is it possible if yes then how to do?

 

Can we write some javascript code in custom page layout?

No - there is no way to hide the save and cancel button on the standard or custom page layouts in Salesforce.com. I am curious - if you dont want a user to see the buttons, why dont you simply remove the edit button so that they can open the record in the edit mode.

 

I hope by 'cusotm page layout' you are not referring to a VF Page.

You can also remove "Edit" permissions from the user profile for an object
