Beta version vz Released version

Please tell me the differences between Beta version and Released version of a Package.

 

A detailed list of differences will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in anticipation.

But, I had already read this page. I guess my question was not clear enough. I want the implementation details of a beta package and a released package. The link speaks only about what is the use of each of them and not about how they are implemented internally by sales force. I want the technical difference between the two.

The underlying technology is not available, but the key to a beta package is that it is not upgradeable and only supported in certain types of editions.
