Apex code in Force.com IDE

HI,

 

I am new to Force.com IDE. I have installed eclipse with the pluging for Force.com and when I switch to Force.com perspective I don't get code-complete or text-coloring(for keywords) the way we have for Java. 

How can I set it up

Hmm, it should work without having to change any settings.  What's your OS and version of Eclipse / Force.com plugin?  I'm running on XP SP3, Eclipse 3.3.2, Force.com 15 plugin.

Well it didn't. I have eclipse 3.4 and Force.com 16 version. It works for Java code when i change the perspective to Java. I see the methods when I type dot(.) and also the color scheme but not for force.com
