Making ISOCode on Currencytype object and externalid

I need to load fx rates on adaily basis and would like to make the ISOCode (standardfield) on the currencytype object an external id such that I can do an upsert without having the currencytype id for each currency.

 

Any idea how to do this?

Hi,

 

I had the same problem - I thought. Needed to upload a list of 50 currencies and their exchange rate based on the ISOcode, using dataloader. Allthough Dataloader only allows you to match the currencies based on the (SFDC)ID, I did an upsert, matched my ISOcode, exchange rate columns & number of decimals (all the mandatory fields) but I did not match any field to the SFDC ID. To my surprise, the upsert was succesful, and SFDC did upsert all my currencies succesfully. The only error message I got was on my corporate currency - that one can not be overwritten.
