Is it possible to acknowledge parent case owner on child case close?

Hi,

 

Is it possible to send email notification to parent case owner whenever child case close?

With out looking into it and this is just off the top of my head.

 

Create a formula field on the child case that pulls the parent case contact's email address.

Then create a workflow rule on child case close to send an email using your new formula field.

 

if this doesn't work for some reason then you have to write Apex to send the email.
