Modify Pagelayout

Hi..

 

Can i modify the exsisting layout of the custom object? I want to add a PageBlock in it, is it possible? or i have to create my own detail page for a custom object? Please help me with a proper example..

Hi,

Yes we can modifiy the page layout of the custom object.

Follow the below steps for editing the page layout of the custom object

  1. Setup->create->objects->click object for which you want to edit the page layout
  2. Click on the Edit link present in the page layout
  3. If you want to add a section drag and drop the section from the panel where you want to add click right side of the section setting button for customize and change the name of the section.
  4. If you want to add field in section just drag and drupe the fields in your section
  5. After that click on the save button
