Populate data in new field

Hello Board,

We have a managed package which has Job as one of the object.

We have introduced a new field(TextField) for the Job object in new version.

We want to populate data for this field.

How can we populate data for this field?

Thanks,
Devendra

Well it depends on how you needed to modify the data.

If it was just a simple update. you could do it through the System Console. More complex, then the Bulk Data Loader is probably your best bet. We have a strong integration with the API, so we would just use that.

Thanks craigmh for your response!

I was thinking about the same. But the above mentioned feature came into the current salesforce release.

Is there any other way to do this (I am just curious to know if there any), how such situation was handled prior to new feature?

Thanks,

Devendra
