Will contact's account change trigger the User object trigger? (user account changes)

The after update trigger code is on the user object. 
It is expected when the contact's account changes, the corresponding user's account changes also. therefore the trigger on user should execute. However, there is no sign from debug that the user trigger is execuated.

Can I know why?

Contact and User are two seperate objects. Contact has a lookup to the account object, but user does not. So when the contact's account changes, it does not change anything in the User object, and therefore there is no reason for the trigger to fire.
