Is it possible to write two action methods in single controller in salesforce

Yes - as many as you need - not really a limit that I'm aware of.

Well, the limit, of course, is that a class may only be 1,000,000 characters, but there's no intrinsic limitation that you'll reach before you reach the character-size limit.
