aj2taylo2 Does a user need administrator privileges to install the force.com ide on a windows machine? I need to visit a site and use one of their machines to access their SFDC org (security protocol), and they are asking what is required to install the IDE.
Hi there,
Force.com IDE simply extracts .exe file to your local computer and performs installation. Though it does not require administrator privillages.
But make sure to get proxy server, port address, username, password (Username and password are exception in most cases). Because after you perform installation, you will need to set manual proxy settings as per security protocol.
I am suggesting this in advance, because I had to wait a long enough to receive clearance for proxy information.
