A lead is qualifed through a configurable process, after which it can be converted to an account, contact and optionally an opportunity.
An opportunity has a sales process associated with it, which are the steps that need to be carried out to complete the deal - e.g. respond to an RFP, agree contracts etc. An opportunity can also have products, which are the items that are going to be sold.
