StandardController with Custom Component

How would I go about using a StandardController with a custom component. What is the namespace for the, for example, account standard controller?

Any help would be much appreciated.

On that note... since it will probably come up next. If I am able to assign a standardController to a component, is there any way to imitate the recordSetVar parameter you can set for a page?
