When attempting to sync:

Unable to login to Salesforce
API_DISABLED_FOR_ORG: API is not enabled for this Organization or Partner

We have the Enterprise edition of Saleforce. What gives?

It sounds like you don't have enterprise edition. But if you really do have EE, then call support and tell them that the API is disabled.
