Entourage

Is there a way to get Salesforce events and tasks into Entourage?  SF3 does not appear to work because
  1. You have to sync througt iCal, not directly to Entourage
  2. Entourage and SF3 each create iCal calendars
  3. Entourage will only sync to iCal's Entourage calendar, you can't select other calendars to sync
  4. SF3 with only sync to the Saleforce calendar it creates
Am I correct in all this, is there an alternative approach?

You are correct. There's an outstanding feature request to have you be able to specify an iCal calendar to sync to in SF3, so that you can select the entourage calendar.

Any idea when that feature might be available and, just to confirm - I am correct that no other approach works at the present time?

There's no fixed schedule, however SF3 is an open source project, so feel free to contribute any additional features you need :) I know of no other work around to sync the entourage calendar to salesforce.com
