It is possible to generate native charts in Salesforce or I need to use an external API (i.e.: Google Charts)?
In my opinion, salesforce has not provided in native charts. You need to use third party charts viz google chart. Refer the link for more information on google charts http://wiki.developerforce.com/index.php/Using_Formulas_and_Google_Charts_to_Visualize_Data
Hope this helps.
they haven't exposed their chart engine for developer use, so Google it is. i did see in the Winter '11 release notes that Reports are going to be in the API (and hence Apex), which would make using Google charts a bit easier, though.
Thank you, guys :)
