Accessing calendar/Events via customer portal

Looks like the Salesforce Calendar is not accessible via customer portal - Pls confirm.

What is way to use a calendar for customer portal?

Are there workarounds or anything else that one can use for calendar?

I am also curious about this. I'd like to implement an event registration calendar when some one would click on the event and be taken to a registration page.
