Changing group owner

Is there any way to change the owner of a Chatter group outside of deleting and re-creating the group? We have an admin who will no longer be in our instance of Salesforce, so his login will be inactivated. We would like him to be removed as owner of all the groups he has created.

Yes.

 

Click on the Group

-->

under the Members Section

Click "Change Roles"

-->

Next to current Owner

Click "Group Settings"

-->

under Basic Info 

Change Owner to someone new.

Thanks for the help. The group settings weren't exactly where your instructions indicated, but going there first let me change the owner, and then the original owner became a manager of the group which I was then able to uncheck.

 

The group settings link is actually under the logo for the group on the left side.

Glad you figured it out!  

 

Yeah, there are a few ways to get to the same spot (changing group owner) - just like anything else.

Hello,
The owner of our group has since left the company, so we have no way for her to change the ownership of the group.  How can I change the group owner to me?  The directions above don't produce the settings and views that are indicated since currently I'm just a "member" of the group.
