how to generate reports in salesforce? Is there any tools for generating reports.

Hi,
You can create reports from reports tab on top of the applications or you can find the tab clicking on the all tabs on right most of your tabs.

why you have posted this question in rest API integration?
if you are looking for simple report, you can use report builder by clicking report tab as mentioned by Navatar_Db sub.
with report builder you can select column.
you can check custom report type if you are looking more than standard report.
