Login on behalf of another user

Hi everyone,

I'm a Salesforce system administrator and I would like to login to the Web Services API on behalf of (ie: impersonate) a Salesforce user that is part of my company.

Can this be done ?

(I'm in fact looking for a feature similar to what Google Docs already provides: https://developers.google.com/google-apps/documents-list/#using_google_apps_administrative_access_to_impersonate_other_domain_users)

Thanks !

Yes. Make sure you assign the user to a profile. On the profile settings, you can enable API user setting. Under Standard object permissions you can chose the objects you want API enabled. One more thing about salesforce is you can even restrict the login IP range for this user to access this from with in your company intranet.
