The Force.com Security Source Code Scanner is experiencing delays

For the last couple of days (at least!), http://security.force.com/security/tools/forcecom/scanner has been saying, "At this time the Force.com Security Source Code Scanner is experiencing delays. Expect delays as we work through this issue.

If we can't scan our app, we can't submit for Security Review. And the Security Review fees go up NINEFOLD on September 1.

Salesforce, can you give us any additional information about this problem or when you expect it to be resolved?

Thanks.

The message you see is displayed whenever there are more than a fixed
number of apps in the queue to be scanned. This does not mean that scans
are not occurring. We are currently about a day (24 hours) behind for
scans, and you should be budgeting this much time for completion of scans
in general.

Thank you for responding! I can understand that, especially as people are trying to get their apps ready for Dreamforce, a lot of people are submitting for review. It would help if the message on the page provided a little more detail - as it's worded now, it sounds like there's an issue somebody is working through, not just a backlog. Saying something more about how long the backlog is or how long people should expect to wait once they are able to submit for a scan would be much more informative. (It'd be wonderful if there were a way to examine the queue to see how far along we are in it too....)

At any rate, thank you for responding.
