I have written an S Control that will calculate the Gross Margin of an opportunity from cost values for each of the products.

This is excellent... very useful... I added the custom button
"Update gross margin" to my opportunity page layout along with
the "COGS" and "Gross Margin" fields and they calculate
correctly.
However it seems like the custom button is running
constantly and displaying the message "Please wait, Updating Cost of Goods in Opportunity: .."
Can you please tell me what I might be doing wrong?

Unfortunately this control does not work with Professional edition.
Is there anything that can do the same job that will work in PE ?

This code no longer exists. Why is GM such a difficult thing to calculate in salesforce.com? Answer: dysfunctional app.
