Chatter and Site / Chatter and Customer Portal

Hi everyone,

 

Do you know if we can use Chatter API from a Site User and Customer Portal user?

Basically we want to access custom object feeds, and insert post.

Sites = Chatter Yes

Portal = Not currently

Err, but I did this already with the Site user. With the appropriate permission he/she can post, view, etc.

Any thoughts on when it will be possible for portal users? 

 

For an org like ours chatter will be revolutionary, but not until the portal users can use it too

Has anyone tried or recommend using an intermediary object to store chatter posts.  Then having a job collect and create tham running as admin use on regular basis?

 

Not an ideal scenario but a possible workaround.

 

...also I am sure I have tried to create chatter posts fro sites guest user and not been successful? Do you need to enable any permissions?

Can you please share the link to the solution to enable Chatter on Sites and Customer Portal?  The link on the discussion board seems to broken / content deleted.
