Adding custom tab to a Customer Portal

I have a custom object ( Available for Customer Portal value checked). I am trying to add it to my customer portal.
Though I have added this object in the customer portal through the button CUSTOMIZE PORTAL TABS on the portal page, I am not able to see in the portal itself.
Also, is there a way to add visual force page on the portal?

Any clue would be very helpful.

Thanks

To add a Visualforce page to the portal, first create a "Visualforce Tab" , then add that tab to the Customer Portal Tab settings.

Also make sure that the portal user's profile has visibility to the objects and tabs.

Hello,

we created one custom portal, and we are tring to access a visualforce page through link (<a href="#">).

its opening in a new window with the following error message.

Insufficient Privileges You do not have the level of access necessary to perform the operation you requested. Please contact the owner of the record or your administrator if access is necessary.

But same visualforce page is working fine in production & sandbox environment.

Please any clue would be very helpful.

Hi Sunil,

Be sure in the customer portal profile, you have added the Visualforce page to the Enabled Visaulforce Page Access list.

Hope that helps,
