Import contact fields: insert Lookup field using record id

Hi,
according to your advice at one of the forums:
in order to insert lookup fields we must manually change the url in the loggin session to version 7.0
what are the consequences of that action on my excel connector?
how and should i change it permanently so it will automatically set on 7.0 when i login

There is an option to specify this in one of the tabs that comes up when you click on the Options menu item.
the only thing that changes is the version of the api that is used, no other changes.
