Excel Connector Error "Describe () automation error, library not registered"

I can login to salesforce connector, but after I select any object (Account, Case, etc) from the table query wizard I get the following error...

Salesforce: Describe()
invalid Range, missing data type, or other error, type: Case
Automation error
library not registered

The plugin has worked as recently as 1 month ago and I haven't switched anything since.

I had upgraded my outlook edition to 3.2, which uninstalls a key binary that the connector uses.  This toolkit re-installs it.

I have the same problem. I had office 2003 before, now the whole company members get office 2007. since then I have this same error message for a products request. I think it should be something with excel than with the connector. I'll try to re-install the connector.
