Where to download the sforce_connect.xla

To whom it may concern

I have recently downloaded the Office Toolkit 4.0  from  http://code.google.com/p/excel-connector/

There is no mention on where to download the XLA file ( sforce_connect.xla)

Where does one get this fiel? It appears not to have come with the Office Toolkit install. It also states that one has to configure the Office Toolkit. How does one do this? I can't find any documentation regarding this.

Regards

Stephen

Try This:

To install Connect for Office:

  1. Close all Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  2. Click Your Name | Setup | Desktop Integration | Connect for Office.

    In Enterprise and Unlimited Editions, your administrator may have prohibited access to the download page. For more information, see Setting User Permissions for Desktop Clients.

  3. Click Install Now.
  4. Click Yes when prompted to install Connect for Office. We recommend that you install Connect for Office to the default folder suggested by the installer.
  5. After the installation completes, open Excel or Word, and select the salesforce.com menu to begin using Connect for Office.
  6. The first time you open Word, you are prompted to enable macros from salesforce.com. You must enable the macros and accept salesforce.com as a macro publisher to use the Word add-in.

For more information log into Salesforce and select "Help and Training". In the search menu, type "Installing Connect for Office" Enjoy (but also look into Informatica Cloud if you plan to do robust data moves)

Download URL :: http://code.google.com/p/excel-connector/downloads/list

The sforce_connect.xla is an Excel Add-In and not intended to be opened directly by clicking on the XLA file. To Install the XLA file into Excel:

  1. Launch Excel
  2. Click on the Tools menu bar
  3. Click on -> Add-Ins...
  4. Click on the Browse button, locate the Add-In file from the directory where you unpacked the ZIP file

select the add-in and click OK to load it.
