Getting error message : "compile error in hidden module: Autoexec"

After some investigation, I am getting this error with Outlook Edition 3.2.502. I don't have this error message with the previous OE version (3.2.119). Fortunately I kept the old version so I could reinstall it.

I am posting this if it can help someone ... and also for salesforce to solve the issue with the OE connector

I am getting the same error after upgrading to Office 2007. Any ideas?

Thanks

Problem solved.  Upgrade to Office 2007 SP1.

I'm actually having the same exact problem and it started today right after I updated to version 3.2.5.12 of Outlook Connect.

Why does Connect for Microsoft Outlook effect the Excel connector?

I'm having the same problem.  I've even updated to SP1 and still get the same error.  Did anybody with Office 2007 get this working?

Its not Office 2007, its actually the updated version of Salesforce Connect for Outlook; I was able to fix the issue by uninstalling the SFDC Outlook plug-in.

I vaguely remember having a similar problem in the past and I think I was able to correct it by installing Salesforce Connect for MS Office.  I haven't tried it, care to be the guinea pig?

Thanks.  I got it working, but it stopped after a while.

Now I'm getting two other errors:

When I start the Connector from the menu on the Add-Ins tab:

Cannot run the macro ''C:\Documents and Settings\sglickman\Desktop\sforce_connect_for_pe.xla'!sfDescribeAndQuery'. The macro may not be available in this workbook or all macros may be disabled.

Note that I do have all macros enabled (in the Excel 2007 Trust Center)

If I were to open Excel by clicking on the sforce_connect_for_pe.xla file on my desktop (No other Excel sessions were running:

A document with the name 'sforce_connect_for_pe.xla' is already open. You cannot open two documents with the same name, even if the documents are in different folders.
To open the second document, either close the document that's currently open, or rename one of the documents.

I really appreciate your help, and the help from anybody out there that may have experienced the same problems.

These steps are for those who struggled with getting the Professional Edition of the Connector to work:

1.) Download Office Toolkit 4
http://code.google.com/p/excel-connector/downloads/detail?name=SForce_Office_Toolkit_MSI.zip&can=2&q=

2.) Download Office Toolkit 3
Office Toolkit 3 download
http://sforce.sourceforge.net/excel/install.htm

3.) I've tried all sorts of PE Connector versions and the only one that worked for me was this:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/sforce/files/excel_plugin/sforce_connect_6_16pe/sforce_connect_616pe.zip/download - SForce Connector version 6

4.) Don't worry about the version number as you will be presented the option to change the server URL for updated API access
Change Server URL to - https://www.salesforce.com/services/Soap/c/20

5.) You may also want to make sure that you have this installed.
