Using Excel Connector to update Opportunity Records

Hi there,

 

Our Sales Teams would like to use Excel Connector to update records on the Opportunity, some specific fields only.

 

They would like to use this tool so they do not have to go under each Opportunity and update it manually. It would be easier to update the records using Excel Connector.

 

Do you think it is wise to provide our Sales Team with this Tool?

 

Can Connecotor be beneficial to the Sales Team on updating the records?

Hi,

 

I would not recommend having "uneducated users" utilize this tool. It can have significant impacts because you can change mass amounts of data quickly.

 

First off, are you backing up your data in any way?

Secondly, what you can provide them for easier updating is to provide them the exported spreadsheet and you do the push yourself. Another thing you can do is to provide them a list view with in-line editing so they can edit straight from the view.
