Redirecting a domain to existing force.com site?

I need to redirect the following domain: forums.qlogic.com to an existing force.com site.  How do I do this?

Force.com site: http://qlogic.force.com/SupportCenter/Customer_support_main

You will have to create a CNAME record in the DNS where qlogic.com resides and point it to your force.com site.

I created a new domain name in Salesforce.com. However, how do I know when the domain name has been validated? Is my orgainzations unique API id  the one highlighted in the image below?
