Dashboards

I am working on salesforce with dashboards and system does not permit me becuase this error appears, 

Error:The running user for this dashboard is inactive. Your system administrator should select an active user for this dashboard.

How do I change the running user to an active user??

Do you have the system admin profile? if yes, please following the step in the link to change the setting for the running user on the dashboard:
https://help.salesforce.com/HTViewHelpDoc?id=dashboards_select_running_user.htm&language=en_US

If not, please provide the steps to the system admin so he can make the required change and set an active user as the running user for the dashboard.
