WSDL download

I am trying toTo download the standard Salesforce.com Partner WSDL. The instructions are to go to setup, Build, Develop, API. However, in API I do not have the option to click on WSDL.

When you expand the API menu option, you should see a screen with loads of links on - see screenshot.
If you dont see this page, which edition do you use?  API is only available in Professional, Enterprise, Developer, and Database.com Editions.API screenshot

I do not see the screen you have pasted. I am using the free trial.

You got this error because trial version of Salesforce goes with disabled API. It means that you cannot download any WSDLs. As a work around I suggest working with SF Developer edition (its free) where API is enabled.
