Want to know about Compact Layout

Hi All,

I want to know about Compact Layout. What it does??? I have created Compact Layout for an object but
I am not getting where I can see its changes.

Compact layouts are used in Salesforce1 to display a record's key fields at a glance. Compact layouts are designed for viewing records on touchscreen mobile devices, where space is limited and quick recognition of records is important.

Compact layouts are used in Salesforce1 to display a record's key fields at a glance. Compact layouts determine the fields that show up in several places in Salesforce1, including in a record’s highlights area and those in a record’s preview card. Compact layouts also drive which fields appear in a feed item resulting from a create action.
