Contact record access when Account is Null ?

I have created a sharing rule to share the contact records to other group when contact is owned by a specific user. This works in all the cases when Account is stamped on contact record, but when account is null on contact, users  from other groups can't see this contact. Is there any specific setting for contacts having no account stamped?

Unfortunately not.  Contacts with no parent account are private contacts and only visible to the owner and the system administrator.  A common workaround to this is to put the contacts into a bucket account, athough this can cause problems if the number of contacts goes over 10,000.

That's what I did. I created a dummy account and stamped some(453) required contacts under that.
Please do not surprise if I say, count of these orphan contacts is 66K+ in system :).
