Enabling rich text field in android OS

Has anyone faced issue enabling rich text fields in android? In iOS the field can be edited, user can attach pictures etc . Any pointers to resolving this issue please ... Thanks

did a quick research, this issue is addressed in android ver 4.4.3 and above .

I'm on 4.4.4 (Droid Turbo), and it does *not* work. Worse, since it doesn't populate the field, it blanks it upon saving.
