I know this is an older post, but I thought I'd mention what worked for me. I was having the same issue, receiving "Not able to login to Trailhead,it displays 'URL No Longer Exists'" when I tried to log in via the popup window provided by a Salesforce link. I also had multiple tabs open to different help windows. Eventually I realized that some of my tabs were logged in and some were not. If I tried to login on the tabs where I was not logged in already, I received the error; however, if I just refreshed those tabs, the login information perpetuated and I was able to move forward with no issues.
TL:DR If you have multple tabs open and are logged in to some and not others, try refreshing the ones where you are not logged in.

Even i am facing same issue. Every time i log in to Trailhead it takes me to developer.salesforce.com/500. Please help me.
