API disabled for org in Salesforce

Please help.  I am not a developer or really an IT person at all.  Howevever, I keep getting the error message "API disabled for Org".  How can I enable it.  I have the enterprise edition and I am the administrator.  I am on the trial right now.

I believe. Trial version is default API disabled. (refer :https://success.salesforce.com/ideaView?id=08730000000HRs9).
You can log a call in salesforce and request them for temporarily grant API access (should be OK upto 30 days).

Or you can also connect with your Account Executive to enable API access for your ORG.
