Can i write a global trigger that can be called from any button placed on any object? The button should send the caller information such as object name and SF record id to the trigger??

Trigger you need to write in each object ,but you can write a dynamic handler class which can call from all trigger and give functionality to all .

Where basically you can use sObject  and handle all inside class .
