Profiles

Hello,

Can anyone please explain to me how to profiles, and when ? I don't really get the concept
And also, how and where i can use profile after creating it ?

You can assign profiles against an user.

After you create profile. Go to Setup > Manage Users > Users.
Click on the new User button. You will see the newly created Profile is available for use in the Profile picklist.
